Creative Writing and Journalism
Are you excited about being a writer? This is the class for you. Students put together a digital writing portfolio that includes their best work. They learn how to do editorials, news interviews, short stories, screen play writing, copyright laws, poetry, how to get their work published and much more. Lessons are through the Red Oak Academy and are recorded for further use at home. In writing, I’ve had the awesome experience of writing books, being published and self publishing, writing for newspapers and magazines (I even had a live interview with Jerry Lewis), and holding an American Press Pass for several years.

INTERNET ART/WRITING CLASSES STARTING IN JANUARY!
Sharon Jeffus of Visual Manna offers three on-line art classes for the upcoming term to begin Wednesday January 4, 2012. The on-line classrooms run through the Red Oak Academy WebEx program and are offered at 8:30, 10:30, 1:30 and 2:30 Central USA Time. Cost is $20.00 per month or $100 for all 20 lessons.
The second student in the family is $50.00 and the third is $25.00 if you prepay. All classes teach the principles and elements of art and art history/appreciation. Students will learn art techniques along with finishing projects. Students will also be given basic writing assignments, completion of which will be optional.
The 8:30 and 10:30 AM class is for students in preschool up to age eight. Maturity matters so you might try this class and then go to the 1:30 class if the lessons aren’t advanced enough. Preschool children would definitely benefit from this class because there is lots of fine motor skill development. The link below contains sample power points of classes.
The 1:30 class is for ages 9 and up. This class is very basic but does include the optional writing assignments. The link below to the power point on texture is a sample lesson for this class.
Advanced Art 2:30-4:00 The Advanced Class can be taken as a regular advanced art class at regular price or an Advanced Placement class for an additional $100. The perspective power point is a sample of the AP classes.
Here’s the link to the power point file:
